Through an enterprise agreement with Microsoft, Seattle Public Schools is able to provide Microsoft 365 services to students and staff. Microsoft 365 is constantly being updated, please see the Microsoft 365 roadmap to learn more.

All current Seattle Public Schools (SPS) staff and active SPS students have access to the web version of the Microsoft 365 suite of apps.

How to Log in to Microsoft 365

Students log in to their SPS Microsoft 365 account to access Teams, SPS email, OneDrive, and other Microsoft tools:

  1. Go to the Microsoft 365 login page
  2. Log in with your SPS student email address and password
    • Email example: 1jrsmith@megacnru.com

Installing Microsoft 365 Apps on a Personal Device

As part of Seattle Public Schools’ enterprise agreement with Microsoft, current students and specific staff that instruct in the classroom or support that instruction can download Microsoft 365 apps directly to a personal device. If staff have any questions about eligibility for the downloadable version, please contact the TechLine.

How to download and install Microsoft 365 apps to a personal device:

  1. With your SPS account, log in to Microsoft 365
    • Your username should be entered as username@megacnru.com
  2. In the top-right corner, click Install and more > Install Microsoft 365 apps

To install Microsoft 365 apps on mobile devices, go to the App Store or Google Play to find the applications and enter your SPS account information.

Support for Personal Devices at Home

Due to the overwhelming number of variables related to home computer environments, the Techline is unable to assist with support of Office installed on personal devices.

Step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing Microsoft 365.

Employees and students downloading Microsoft apps are entitled to the same support options as other Microsoft customers purchasing software for home use, including free access to resources and newsgroups on the website and pay-per-use email and telephone support.

Yes. You can download Microsoft apps on any 5 personal devices, including PCs, Macs, mobile, or tablets.

No. You can only install Microsoft 365 apps on personal/home devices for students and employees, and not to district-owned devices. The district has a separate agreement with Microsoft for software installation on district-owned devices.

SPS students have access to Microsoft 365 services as long as they are a student of SPS. In November of each year, licenses will expire for students who are no longer enrolled in SPS. After that, they will have read-only access to their Microsoft files and will have the option to purchase the Microsoft 365 on their own (at a monthly fee).

SPS employees have access to Microsoft 365 apps as long as they are an employee of SPS. Within 30 days of their departure, their software will enter a Reduced Functionality mode, which will give users read-only access to their Microsoft files. They will have the option to purchase Microsoft 365 on their own (at a monthly fee).

No. Microsoft 365 purchased for personal use is a consumer product. Microsoft 365 is available through SPS’s existing license with Microsoft.

In reduced functionality mode, Microsoft 365 remains installed on the computer, but users can only view and print their documents. All features for editing or creating new documents are disabled, and the user will see a “Product Deactivated” message.
